The 2024 edition of Transpotec Logitec and NME - Next Mobility Exhibition, which kicks off next Wednesday 8 May, will be inaugurated in the presence of the Italian Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini, who will speak at the opening conference of the two transport and mobility exhibitions organised simultaneously at Fiera Milano Rho. Two events representing parallel industries united by a series of similar themes and a multitude of shared challenges, starting with the development of more sustainable technologies and vehicles capable of taking up the gauntlet of achieving the energy transition and the carbon neutrality targets set at European level.
Starting at 10.15 a.m. on Wednesday 8 May, the Green Hall in Pavilion 10 of Fiera Milano Rho will become the stage for a debate on the future of mobility in Italy. The opening conference of Transpotec Logitec and NME - Next Mobility Exhibition will bring together industry leaders and stakeholders and focus on the crucial role of freight and passenger transport as an engine for growth and economic and social sustainability.
The conference will open with a discussion on the role of public transport, a sector that transports 5.5 billion passengers a year and generates more than 12 billion euros, as a growth driver and at the same time a segment affected by wide-ranging challenges such as increasing the modal share (NRRP target), finding drivers and professionals, and offsetting soaring energy costs. After an introductory greeting by Simona Greco, Owned Exhibitions Director at Fiera Milano, ANAV President Nicola Biscotti, ASSTRA President Andrea Gibelli and AGENS Vice-President Stefano Rossi will take the floor, representing the main employers' associations in the world of public transport, representing 95% of the market.
Following this, the focus will shift to freight transport, for which Transpotec Logitec is the marketplace leader in Italy. The conference will take as its starting point the 50th anniversary of the Road Hauliers' Register. During the event, the latest haulage figures and the main critical issues facing companies will be analysed. These will be discussed by Enrico Finocchi, President of the Central Committee for the Road Hauliers' Register; Paolo Uggè, President of Unatrans; Riccardo Morelli, President of Anita.
The conclusions of the joint conference will be drawn by Minister Matteo Salvini.
