The Politecnico di Milano will present a study on the national strategy for bus and coach transport and tourism to identify targeted development strategies.

At the Next Mobility Exhibition, the Politecnico di Milano will present a study entitled ‘Towards a national strategy for bus and coach transport and tourism’, an ambitious project that aims to examine the role of state-run bus lines in the context of national tourism. The initiative, organised by ANAV, the Associazione Nazionale Autotrasportatori Viaggiatori (National Association of Road Transporters and Travellers), aims to analyse the bus transport market in depth and assess its potential impact on the tourism industry. Through the analysis of service demand and traveller behaviour, the study will seek to identify existing relationships with other transport segments, such as local public transport, open buses and cruise transport.

The presentation of the study by Professor Paolo Beria, from the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies of the Politecnico di Milano will be a key moment for defining the current and future role of road transport in the tourism sector and for the identification of targeted development strategies. The prominent speakers who will take part in the event include high-profile personalities from the institutional and association world: Nicola Biscotti, President of ANAV, and Tullio Ferrante, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Massimo Garavaglia, President of the Senate Finance Committee, and Carlo Fidanza, MEP. The event will be enhanced by the perspectives of regional and local authorities, with the participation of Franco Lucente, Transport Councillor of the Lombardy Region, and Veronica Nicotra, Secretary General of the National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI), as well as Marina Lalli, National President of Federturismo, who will bring a significant perspective from the tourism sector.
